can Change Lives
Can ordinary food influence the health, behavior, and quality of life of a child with autism? Andrea Javůrková’s family began grappling with this question the moment their three-year-old son received a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). They decided not to passively accept the verdict that “nothing can be done” and started looking for answers elsewhere - in food quality, nutrition, and the power of natural processes. Their journey eventually led to the creation of the BioAid shop and a project that helps other families today.
When Diet Is Not a Detail, But the Foundation of Everything
Both Andrea and her partner, Ján, had stable careers—she in the field of taxation, he as a pilot. But nothing prepared them for the moment they discovered their son needed entirely different care than what standard procedures offered.
“Suddenly, we understood that we had to learn to work with the body and immunity differently. That food isn’t just fuel, but a tool,” says Andrea today.
They began exploring the connection between digestion, the immune system, and the brain. They sought information sources primarily abroad and quickly realized that the quality of common foods has changed dramatically over the last few decades. Highly processed foods, chemical additives, and a weakened microbiome — all of these can play a significant role, especially in children with various diagnoses.
A Journey Full of Trial, Error, and Great Discoveries
Like most parents of children with ASD, they first found themselves in a world full of conflicting claims and “guaranteed methods.”Some advice worked, while other paths led to dead ends. They were not spared from encountering scammers.
Yet, they didn’t give up.
They tried different types of diets, eliminated allergens, and started cooking exclusively from high-quality ingredients. Alongside this, they consulted with experts from Mexico, Germany, and the USA, watched lectures, read scientific articles, and gradually pieced together the mosaic of what truly makes sense.
And the Results?
Gradually, small but fundamental changes began to happen.
Positive Changes That Could Not Be Ignored
After introducing the new diet, their son’s digestive issues began to improve, and long-term diarrhea and frequent illnesses gradually disappeared.
Episodes where he would wake up at night in a detached, unresponsive state vanished.
He started sleeping better, focusing better, and being more present in communication.
And one of the biggest milestones?
Transitioning from a special kindergarten to a regular class — without an assistant.
“We saw a child beginning to open up to the world. Understanding more, reacting more, laughing more. And that was confirmation for us that we were on the right path,” Andrea adds.
When an Organic Diet Is Not a Trend, But a Therapeutic Tool
The family gradually switched to a menu composed of minimally processed foods, ideally in organic quality, without synthetic additives and unnecessary chemicals.
According to Andrea, bio is neither an affectation nor a trend.
It is a way to give the body space to function as it was designed.
Ján adds:
“When we saw the changes in our son, we started eating the same way. And our own fitness changed, too. Allergies stopped, and problems we considered normal disappeared.”
BioAid: When a Personal Story Turns into Help for Others
This intense journey naturally resulted in the creation of the BioAid shop—a place where parents and individuals can find quality food, supplements, and inspiration for lifestyle changes.
BioAid stands for “natural aid,” and that is exactly what the Javůrek family wants to offer:
support based on practice, not just theory.
Part of their mission is a project focused on supporting families with children with ASD, allergies, or attention disorders. They don’t sell miracle recipes, but they show the way — from initial testing to practical cooking.
“Diet isn’t everything, but it is the beginning.”
As they say themselves, a change in diet is not a magic solution.
However, it is a solid foundation that allows the body to function better.
And most importantly:
it is something the family holds in their hands every single day.
The Javůrek family believes that their son will one day lead a full life.
And that their experience can be an inspiration for other parents who do not want to settle for the idea that “there is no other way.”.
The Autism Project – Help Grown from Personal Experience
The project created by Andrea and Ján helps families:
- Navigate the possibilities of nutritional therapy,
- Set up a suitable meal plan,
- Understand how diet affects behavior, immunity, and cognitive functions,
- Supplement quality ingredients and natural products,
- And generally support the child’s return to ordinary life.
